Ina Garten - the host of Food
Network's Barefoot
Contessa.
She is mainly well known for her cooking and her cookbooks, in which she has
invented easy recipes that are full of fresh ingredients. She began her
culinary career when she bought the store, Barefoot Contessa in 1978 and taught
herself how to cook by reading many French and New England recipes. The
store closed in 2004. Ina has written seven cookbooks since 1999, and in
2006 launched her own line of packaged foods called Barefoot Contessa Pantry,
including cake mixes, marinades, sauces, and preserves.
