Wimbledon


Tennis anyone? The Championships, Wimbledon or just simply Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and considered to be the most esteemed.  Since 1877, it has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London.  Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments among the Australian Open, French Open and US Open, and is the only tournament still played on grass.  This year it will take place June 25th – July 8th.  Wimbledon traditions include a strict dress code for competitors, spectators snacking on strawberries and cream, Royal patronage, and the absence of sponsor advertising around the courts.

  • In auto racing, a green flag signals the start or resumption of a race.
  • Bright green is the color of the astrological sign "Cancer."

Green Interiors


Look around you, here and there, and all we see is green, green, green?  To celebrate all the wonderful gardens and green landscapes around us, here are a few shots of green inside as well.  And, just for fun some interesting facts on the color green.

Interesting facts about the color green:
·  In several religions, green is the color associated with resurrection and regeneration.
·  Ecological supporters adopted green as the color to represent their movement.
·  The color green signifies mystical or magical properties in the stories of King Arthur.
·  Green is the color used for night-vision goggles, because the human eye is most sensitive to and able to discern the most shades of that color.
